Softball Recap: Mission San Jose Find Success

While Mission San Jose put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Washington. The Warriors came out on top against the Huskies by a score of 4-0. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 5-4 win the Huskies walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

The result came thanks to Hailey Pan's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Aria Gokani was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Anjali Singh, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

The victory made it two in a row for Mission San Jose and bumps their season record up to 2-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Washington, they dropped their record down to 6-9 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mission San Jose will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Newark Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on the 29th. The Cougars will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight. As for Washington, they will venture away from home to square off against American at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Huskies are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
