It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Mt. Vernon had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past the Nordonia Knights 3-0. Winning may never get old, but the Yellowjackets sure are getting used to it with their tenth in a row.
Zach Black paced Mt. Vernon's offense, picking up 12 kills. Black got some help from Isaiah Campbell and his 26 assists.
Mt. Vernon's win bumped their record up to 17-10. As for Nordonia, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 20-7 record.
Mt. Vernon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Archbishop McNicholas on the 31st. Nordonia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
