Recap: Lowndes Vikings vs. Camden County Wildcats
After flying high against the Richmond Hill Wildcats last Friday, the Lowndes Vikings came back down to earth. Lowndes fell just short of Camden County by a score of 57-54. The contest was a 23-23 toss-up at halftime, but Lowndes was outscored by Camden County in the second.
Despite the loss, Lowndes still got an impressive performance from Kam Jackson, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds. Isaiah Camon was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
It was another big night for Elyiss Williams, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds for Camden County. Williams is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ja'Marley Riddle, who scored 11 points.
Lowndes' loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Camden County, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lowndes and Columbia will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Camden County, they will head out on the road to face off against Impact Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Impact Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Camden County likes a good challenge.
