Volleyball Recap: Aurora Comes Up Short

In Saturday's Canine Competition, Aurora didn't have enough. They came up short against the Elkhorn North Wolves on Saturday, falling 3-0. The Huskies' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Aurora was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-23, 25-19.

Kaitlyn Staehr paced Aurora's offense, picking up 14 kills. Staehr got some help from Hailey Hoff and her 31 assists. Staehr was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Aurora's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 21-12. As for Elkhorn North, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Aurora nor Elkhorn North have any future games scheduled.
