Basketball Recap: Jacksonville Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Jacksonville Christian Academy has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 56-47 to New Bern Christian Academy on Tuesday. The Conquerors were probably out for revenge after losing 46-23 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Jacksonville Christian Academy lost, don't look at Nylah Moore. Despite the final result, she went 10 of 18 en route to 29 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Moore is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last 31 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Hodges, who posted seven points.

Jacksonville Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for New Bern Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 14-3.

Jacksonville Christian Academy will head out to challenge Jones at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for New Bern Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Trinity Christian at 6:00 p.m. Trinity Christian's defense has only allowed 27.2 points per game this season, so New Bern Christian Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them.
