Baseball Recap: Fairview Victorious

The Fairview Eagles were able to grind out a solid victory over the Portsmouth Trojans on Wednesday, taking the game 4-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Jace Manning spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 12 Ks.

On the hitting side, Jeffery Everetts was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Landon Stapleton was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Fairview's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Portsmouth, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Fairview didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-3 loss against Coalfield on the 3rd. As for Portsmouth, they will venture away from home to challenge Dawson-Bryant at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
