Chardon and St. Vincent-St. Mary squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Chardon had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Fighting Irish by a score of 2-1. The Hilltoppers' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Chardon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Stone Fawcett, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Chardon's loss dropped their record down to 15-11. As for St. Vincent-St. Mary, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season.

Chardon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Vincent-St. Mary, they will square off against Highland at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Hornets will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Fighting Irish surely won't give up without a fight.
