Basketball Recap: Zion-Benton Takes a Loss

Zion-Benton lost against Waukegan back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Zion-Benton Zee-Bees were dealt an 89-50 defeat at the hands of the Waukegan Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Zee-Bees can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 360th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 54th).

Zion-Benton has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season. As for Waukegan, they have been performing well recently as they've won 14 of their last 18 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Zion-Benton will host Warren Township at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Waukegan, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Stevenson at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
