Softball Recap: Pinon Eagles vs. Northland Prep Academy Spartans
It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Pinon ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Northland Prep Academy Spartans 13-12. The win was just what Pinon needed coming off of a 14-2 loss in their prior match.
For Northland Prep Academy's part, Ryliegh LaFave was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. LaFave was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Isabel Stoffers was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Alana Clark, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three RBI.
