Baseball Game Preview: Hamburg Bulldogs vs. Williamsville East Flames

For the second straight game, Hamburg will face off against Williamsville East. The Bulldogs will take on the Flames at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hamburg is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.

Hamburg proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by nine) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Williamsville East.

Kohl Schaefer tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jimmy Steffen, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played.

Williamsville East has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-5-1 record this season. As for Hamburg, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6-1.
