Baseball Recap: Vero Beach Has No Trouble Against Palm Beach Central

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Vero Beach had no problem doing just that on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Palm Beach Central Broncos as they made off with an 8-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Brandon Walker tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 5.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Vero Beach's win was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Sebastian Dimitroff, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs Dimitroff has posted since back in March.

The victory made it two in a row for Vero Beach and bumps their season record up to 26-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Palm Beach Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-11 record this season.
