Softball Recap: El Camino Find Success

El Camino's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against the Lincoln Mustangs by a score of 10-6. The high-scoring effort was just what the Colts needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Alyssa Rueda spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in February of 2024.

At the plate, Juliana Bazlamit was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Mahealani Keahi, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

The win got El Camino back to even at 1-1. As for Lincoln, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. El Camino will head out to challenge Design Tech at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. El Camino is facing Design Tech at the right time seeing as Design Tech is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Lincoln will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mission at 3:30 p.m. on March 25th. This will be Lincoln's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
