Softball Recap: Franklin Takes a Loss

If Franklin was riding high fresh off their 8-1 takedown of North Plainfield on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors fell 16-12 to the Elizabeth Minutemen on Wednesday. The Warriors were not able to make up for their loss to the Minutemen from their previous meeting back in May of 2023.

Vicky Gabryszewski was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Mia Sanchez-Balzac, who went 1-for-3 with three runs.

Franklin has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Elizabeth, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin will take on Colonia at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Elizabeth, they will challenge Pequannock at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
