Granbury waltzed into their match on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came out on top against the Azle Hornets by a score of 9-5. This was payback for the Pirates, who suffered a 2-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Levi Martinez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kyler Crites, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Derek Marquardt was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Granbury's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Azle, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-8.

Granbury will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Hornets: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
