Baseball Recap: West Clermont Comes Up Short

West Clermont had lost three straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 10-13 to make it four. They fell 7-3 to the Anderson Raptors. If the Wolves were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Raptors when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Anderson, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games.

For Anderson's part, Connor Fecher tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Fecher has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Henry Bee, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Rosiello, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Anderson didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-0 loss against Archbishop McNicholas on the 17th. Hopefully West Clermont paid attention to the Raptors' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Raptors at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
