Preview: Gulf Buccaneers vs. Hudson Cobras
The Gulf Buccaneers will head out on the road to face off against the Hudson Cobras at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Gulf is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
Gulf pushed their score all the way to 61 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Central 65-61. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Gulf in their matchups with Central: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite their loss, Gulf saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Carlos Domenech, who scored 14 points, was perhaps the best of all. Aiden Holewski was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, even though Tarpon Springs scored an imposing 59 points on Tuesday, Hudson still came out on top. Hudson managed a 63-59 victory over Tarpon Springs. The win made it back-to-back wins for Hudson.
Gulf's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Hudson, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-9.
Gulf came up short against Hudson in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 68-61. Can Gulf avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
