Coastal Academy dropped their record down to 15-9 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell 14-11 to the Escondido Charter Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-4 back in March.

Coastal Academy saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan De La Cruz, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI and one run. Jayce Costephens was another, going 1-for-5 with two RBI and one run.

As for Escondido Charter, their victory was their 11th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-1. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this game were averaging 2.55 runs allowed.

On Escondido Charter's side, the team relied heavily on Matthew Hydar, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Hydar has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Joey Seavello, who got on base in three of his six plate appearances with two runs.

While Coastal Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
