Basketball Recap: Coventry Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Coventry and Smithfield squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Coventry had to settle for second. They took a 44-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Smithfield Sentinels. The Oakers' loss continues a trend for the team, making it seven in a row.

Coventry's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Smithfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Coventry does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Smithfield, they are taking a road trip to challenge East Providence at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as East Providence comes in on three and Smithfield on four.
