Baseball Game Preview: Enochs Eagles vs. Hughson Huskies

The Enochs Eagles will be taking part in a tournament against the Hughson Huskies at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Hughson took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Enochs, who comes in off a win.

Enochs barely beat Gregori the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 12-4 win on Thursday. That eight-run margin sets a new team best for the Eagles this season.

Javin Randhawa was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Enochs is 2-1 when Randhawa allows one or fewer earned runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Randhawa was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Parker Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Pierce Vongphakdy, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Enochs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2025.

Meanwhile, Hughson fell victim to Soquel and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Knights, falling 11-0. The shutout was out of character for the Huskies seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.

Enochs is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Hughson, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.
