After a string of three wins, Hiram's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 62-61 to the Cartersville Hurricanes. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (57), the Hornets still had to take the loss.

Hiram's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-5. As for Cartersville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-3.

Hiram and Darlington will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Hiram knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matches -- so hopefully Darlington likes a good challenge. As for Cartersville, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Trion at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
