Volleyball Recap: Ava Montagna's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sickles over Sunlake + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Sickles can now relate to. They came up short against the Sunlake Seahawks on Wednesday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Gryphons have suffered since September 26th.

While Sickles was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-11, 25-23.

Sickles lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ava Montagna, who had 15 assists and three digs. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 12 assists per game.

This is the second loss in a row for Sickles and nudges their season record down to 13-15. As for Sunlake, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.
