Baseball Game Preview: Hoopa Valley Warriors vs. Ferndale Wildcats

Hoopa Valley hasn't had much luck against Ferndale recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Warriors will face off against the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. Hoopa Valley is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.

Hoopa Valley's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over Happy Camp. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Allen Kane was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Hoopa Valley: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Brandon Romero, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one triple.

Hoopa Valley hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Ferndale unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against St. Bernard's, falling 9-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Wildcats have suffered since May 9, 2024.

Hoopa Valley's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-7. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Ferndale, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-3.

Hoopa Valley might still be hurting after the 15-5 loss they got from Ferndale in their previous meeting on April 10th. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
