Basketball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Westerly's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Westerly had won two straight home games and Ella Reyes did her part to make it three on Saturday. The Westerly Bulldogs blew past the Cranston West Falcons, posting a 70-25 victory thanks in part to Reyes, who posted ten points along with seven steals and six boards. Reyes is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Cranston West lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kyla Buco, who earned nine points and three steals. That was a full 36% of Cranston West's points, marking the third time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. Nicole Silvestri was another key player, putting up seven points and eight rebounds.

Westerly has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.2 points. As for Cranston West, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Westerly will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against West Warwick at 7:00 p.m. Westerly has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Cranston West, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-45 defeat against Classical on the 20th.
