Softball Recap: Weatherly Takes a Loss

Weatherly extended their losing streak to 14 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 2-16 in the process. They lost 20-11 to the Nativity BVM Green Wave. Even if Weatherly couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

As for Nativity BVM, they moved to 3-16 with that victory, which also ended their ten-game losing streak. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for their hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

For Nativity BVM's part, the team relied heavily on Carleigh Palmieri, who went 4-for-6 with eight stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. Those four runs gave Palmieri a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Anna Jansson, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

Weatherly does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Nativity BVM, they will welcome Marian Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Marian Catholic has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.94 runs per game on average), something Nativity BVM will no doubt try to take advantage of.
