Football Recap: East Laurens Falcons vs. Johnson County Trojans

East Laurens kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 27-21 to the Johnson County Trojans. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Despite the loss, East Laurens still got an impressive performance from Sky Snead, who threw for 132 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 41 yards.

Johnson County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jeremiah Scott out in front who rushed for 96 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 carries. Those 96 rushing yards gave Scott a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tayshawn Norris, who rushed for 96 yards and one score on only ten carries.

East Laurens will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bleckley County at 7:30 p.m. on the 29th. The match will give the Falcons their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Johnson County, they have already played their next contest, a 38-7 victory against Montgomery County on the 22nd.
