Volleyball Recap: Avon Victorious

Avon had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Blackhawks on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Pirates also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2019.

Jordyn Voigt was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 16 digs and two assists. That's the most digs she has posted since back in October of 2024.

Avon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Freeman on the 26th. As for Sanborn Central/Woonsocket, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Ethan at 7:00 p.m. on September 4.
