Baseball Recap: Middleton Takes a Loss

After flying high against Janesville Parker on Wednesday, Middleton came back down to earth. The Cardinals fell just short of the Verona Wildcats by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Cardinals have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Middleton's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Verona, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Middleton will head out to challenge Watertown at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Goslings will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight. As for Verona, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Janesville Craig on the 19th.
