Football Recap: Saint Mary's Comes Up Short on the Road Against Deer Valley

Saint Mary had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a blow against the Deer Valley Wolverines on Friday, falling 41-0. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolverines apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2022.

Anias Hightower had a dynamite game For Deer Valley., rushing for 174 yards on only nine carries, while also picking up 31 receiving yards. Those 174 rushing yards gave Hightower a new career-high. Adrian Masaniai was another key player, throwing for 111 yards and three touchdowns.

Saint Mary's didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 16-12 victory against Terra Linda on the 6th. As for Deer Valley, they have also already played their next game, a 27-0 win against Novato on the 5th.
