Softball Recap: Blanchester Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Blanchester waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They blew past the Cincinnati Christian Cougars 13-1. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by ten runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Bailie Bare, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jocelyn Lansing, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

Blanchester always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They are 8-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Blanchester's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-9. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Cincinnati Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.

Coming up, Blanchester will welcome Williamsburg at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Williamsburg's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Blanchester's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Cincinnati Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
