Softball Recap: Patrick Henry Patriots vs. Salem Spartans

Patrick Henry extended their losing streak to 19 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 1-23 in the process. They lost 12-0 to the Salem Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 back in April.

As for Salem, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-4-1. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.

For Salem's part, Cora Robinson and Cora Sparger made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Robinson tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Sparger tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
