Softball Recap: Springfield Takes a Loss

Springfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Ashland Grizzlies, falling 10-4. Surprisingly, this marked the Millers' third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Springfield saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Sankey, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Sankey has brought in this season.

Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Ashland, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-7.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Springfield will square off against rival Churchill at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Ashland is set to take on their familiar foe North Eugene at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
