ThunderRidge piles up the points against George Washington

There's no place like home for the ThunderRidge Grizzlies, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They took their matchup at home on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 72-41 win over George Washington. Given ThunderRidge's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while George Washington is ranked 140th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

ThunderRidge's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tommy Wight, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Charlie Spann was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with 3 steals.

Despite the defeat, George Washington saw an underclassman step up: Jeremiah Trimm scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Trimm scored a full 34.1% of George Washington's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Dotson, who scored 8 points.

ThunderRidge's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for George Washington, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

ThunderRidge will face off against Arapahoe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for George Washington, they will square off against Fossil Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
