Basketball Game Preview: Shorecrest Prep Chargers vs. Cambridge Christian Lancers

The Shorecrest Prep Chargers will take on the Cambridge Christian Lancers in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Shorecrest Prep is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.5 points per game this season.

Shorecrest Prep is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Northeast just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 54-52. The loss was the Chargers' first of the season.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Ahmad Crumity, who posted 16 points. Nickolas Bearden was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Meanwhile, Cambridge Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They had just enough and edged the Warriors out 60-57. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lancers have posted since November 30, 2023.

Cambridge Christian's win came from a few key players Shorecrest Prep will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Caden Martinez, who put up 18 points. Another player making a difference was Andrew Proffitt, who had 17 points.

Cambridge Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points per game. As for Shorecrest Prep, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
