Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family skates past Neligh-Oakdale with ease

Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Neligh-Oakdale 71-32 on the road. Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 28 points or more this season.

Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family was led to victory by Easton Baumgart and Owen Kurtenbach. Baumgart scored 12 points along with seven assists and five rebounds, while Kurtenbach scored 14 points along with seven steals. Baumgart hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Gavin Groteluschen was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds.

Neligh-Oakdale's loss came despite strong showings from Chase Furstenau and Colson Krebs. Furstenau scored 16 points along with five rebounds, while Krebs scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals. That was a full 50% of Neligh-Oakdale's points, marking the 11th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Christian Rodgers, who scored six points.

Neligh-Oakdale struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family pulled down 15 offensive rebounds.

The victory (which was Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family's fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for Neligh-Oakdale, their loss was their 13th straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family will take on Oakland-Craig at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Oakland-Craig focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Tuesday. As for Neligh-Oakdale, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Holt at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Holt presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Neligh-Oakdale in Nebraska (West Holt is ranked 108th, while Neligh-Oakdale is ranked 251st).
