Baseball Recap: Lafayette Makes It Five in a Row at Home

It's playoff time, and Lafayette had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Union County Fightin' Tigers on Monday. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Fightin' Tigers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Hyatt Richardson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Jordan Murphy, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.

Lafayette pushed their record up to 23-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Union County, they now have a losing record of 14-15.

Lafayette will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Fightin' Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
