Basketball Recap: Bryce Mccartney and Eastin Gray Secure Win for Harrisburg

Harrisburg's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 53-44 victory over the Rivercrest Colts. This was a revenge game for the Hornets: when they faced off against the Colts back in January, they had to take a 70-39 loss.

Leading Harrisburg to victory were Eastin Gray and Bryce McCartney. Gray almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards, while McCartney went 6 of 10 on his way to 13 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. The dominant performance also gave Gray a new career-high in assists (five). Another player making a difference was Axel Heeb, who posted seven points and three steals.

Harrisburg has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-11 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Rivercrest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-7.

Harrisburg will take on Walnut Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Harrisburg is facing Walnut Ridge at the right time seeing as Walnut Ridge is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Rivercrest, they will square off against Osceola at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Osceola knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Rivercrest likes a good challenge.
