Softball Game Preview: Temple Wildcats vs. Bryan Vikings

The Temple Wildcats will head out to face off against the Bryan Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Bryan took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Temple, who comes in off a win.

Temple took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Killeen 18-2. The high-scoring effort was just what the Wildcats needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Temple got a massive performance out of Kaegan Yepma, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Lilliana Gandara was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Temple always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March.

Meanwhile, Bryan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of Shoemaker.

Bryan's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Temple, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9-1.

Temple skirted past Bryan 6-5 in their previous meeting back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
