Preview: Park Crossing Thunderbirds vs. Brewbaker Tech Rams
The Park Crossing Thunderbirds and the Brewbaker Tech Rams will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Park Crossing is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Brewbaker Tech in Alabama (Park Crossing is ranked 90th, while Brewbaker Tech is ranked 262nd).
Last Tuesday, Park Crossing ended up a good deal behind Charles Henderson and lost 62-43. Park Crossing has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Park Crossing had strong showings from Jayden Scott, who scored 16 points, and Chris Simms, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Brewbaker Tech pushed their score all the way to 58 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Selma 62-58.
Despite the defeat, Brewbaker Tech got a solid performance out of Kevin Honer, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. Honer hasn't dropped below 15points for nine straight games. Tyler Dixon was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five assists.
Park Crossing's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Brewbaker Tech, they dropped their record down to 7-17 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Fans should be in for an exciting game on Thursday as both teams are among the highest scoring teams in the league right now. Park Crossing hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 56.6 points per game. However, it's not like Brewbaker Tech struggles in that department as they've been averaging 60.5 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Park Crossing beat Brewbaker Tech 58-48 when the teams last played back in November of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Park Crossing since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
