Basketball Recap: Cairo Syrupmakers vs. Dougherty Trojans

Cairo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Dougherty Trojans and fell 84-52. The Syrupmakers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-26.

Leading Dougherty to victory were Jawuan Jinks Jr and David Burgess. Jinks Jr went 8-for-12 on his way to 22 points along with five assists and three steals, while Burgess went 9-for-13 en route to 21 points and seven rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Burgess now owns an excellent 45.1% shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaquavus Hallman, who posted five points and three steals.
