Baseball Recap: Larkin Takes a Loss

Larkin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 7-2 to the Metea Valley Mustangs. If the Royals were looking for revenge after losing 6-0 to the Mustangs when the teams met back in April of 2015, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Larkin saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adrian Gasca, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. Those three hits gave Gasca a new career-high. Omar Garnica also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Larkin's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Metea Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

Coming up, Larkin will face off against Glenbard North at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Glenbard North has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.8 runs per game on average), something Larkin will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Metea Valley, they will challenge West Aurora at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Metea Valley's pitchers better be ready for this one: West Aurora has averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
