Softball Recap: Manzano Monarchs vs. Capital Jaguars

Manzano was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 24-19 to the Capital Jaguars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Manzano of the 20-9 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture on Saturday.

Shania Aragon made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. She is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Gia Padilla, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

On Capital's side, they got a massive performance out of Amaya Batista, who went 3-for-6 with a home run, five RBI, and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Salazar, who scored four runs while going 5-for-5.

Manzano's defeat dropped their record down to 6-19. As for Capital, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-14.
