Volleyball Recap: Wilkes Central Comes Up Short

Wilkes Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Ashe County Huskies. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-0 loss two weeks ago.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-19, 25-10.

Charlea Abrams paced Wilkes Central's offense, picking up six kills. Abrams got some help from Lake Carver and her five assists. Carver also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Jolieya Parsons, each putting up two.

Wilkes Central's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Ashe County, their win was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-7.

Wilkes Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Ashe County, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Elkin on the 14th.
