Basketball Game Preview: Navarro Panthers vs. Davenport Wolves

Navarro is 4-0 against Davenport since December of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Navarro Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Davenport Wolves at 6:30 p.m.

Navarro is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest defeat since December 6, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 56-32 to Fredericksburg. The Panthers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Despite the defeat, Navarro had strong showings from Tegan Harborth, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds, and Isabelle Geipel, who posted eight points. Harborth is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

Meanwhile, Davenport had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.5 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 60-42 win over the Texans.

Davenport is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for Navarro, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-9.

Navarro beat Davenport 50-39 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Navarro since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
