Softball Game Preview: Tipton Blue Devils vs. Elwood Panthers

The Tipton Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Elwood Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Tipton has given up an average of 10.1 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tipton's last matchup with Clinton Prairie could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Friday. The Blue Devils lost 18-4 to the Gophers.

Makayla Schinlaub was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Panthers on Friday. Elwood fell just short of Pioneer by a score of 8-6. Elwood's loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Kelsey Armes made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Stout, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Tipton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Elwood, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.

Everything went Tipton's way against Elwood in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Tipton made off with a 9-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
