Volleyball Game Preview: Wes-Del Warriors vs. Yorktown Tigers

Wes-Del is 0-8 against Yorktown since September of 2015 but things could change on Saturday. The Warriors will square off against the Tigers at 11:00 a.m.

On Thursday, Wes-Del came up short against Madison-Grant and fell 3-1.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Madison-Grant scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-17, 22-25, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Yorktown waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Broncos with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Yorktown's win bumped their record up to 18-7. As for Wes-Del, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-17.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday's match: Wes-Del has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8.6 aces per game. However, it's not like Yorktown struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Wes-Del might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Yorktown when the teams last played back in September of 2023. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
