Basketball Recap: Torrington's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Torrington had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Woodland Regional Hawks with a sharp 77-53 win. That's two games straight that the Raiders have won by exactly 24 points.

Torrington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chris De La Cruz led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with 21 points and nine boards. The contest was De La Cruz's fourth in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adi Puskarevic, who almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine rebounds.

Torrington's victory bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Woodland Regional, their loss dropped their record down to 15-7.

As of now, neither Torrington nor Woodland Regional have any future games scheduled.
