Baseball Game Preview: Jackson Ironman/Ironladies vs. Athens Bulldogs

The Jackson Ironman/Ironladies will face off against the Athens Bulldogs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Jackson will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

On Friday, Jackson beat Miami Trace 6-1.

Jackson secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Noah Ernst, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Athens entered their game against Parkersburg on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Bulldogs took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Big Reds. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Athens' defeat dropped their record down to 15-4. As for Jackson, their victory was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-0.

Jackson took their win against Athens when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 15-7 score. Will the Ironman/Ironladies repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
