Football Recap: Edmond Memorial Starts Season with Victory Against Del City

Edmond Memorial gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 35-0 victory over the Del City Eagles. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Edmond Memorial's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dawson Beaulieu, who threw for 114 yards and a pair of TDs.

Edmond Memorial didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Beckett Freel, Diantre Bennett, and Bradyn McGowen picked up one apiece. McGowen is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made nine or more in each of the last four games he's played dating back to last season. Another thorn in Del City's side was Teagan Lesch, who picked up a sack and made 11 total tackles.

Coming up, Edmond Memorial will challenge Deer Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Del City, they will face off against Booker T. Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
