Zephyr had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.3 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They walked away with a 30-18 win over the Brookesmith Mustangs. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Zephyr is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.1 points per game. As for Brookesmith, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-7.

Coincidentally, Zephyr and Brookesmith will both be playing Richland Springs the next time they take the court. Brookesmith will head out to face Richland Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Zephyr will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on January 14th.
