Borah had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs), and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Centennial Patriots a 10-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Borah also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2023.
Megan Meracle made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Meracle has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive pitching appearances. Meracle was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with a home run.
In other batting news, Borah got a massive performance out of Olyvia Chalifoux, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Chalifoux is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last three games she's played. Kayla Campbell was another key contributor, going 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI.
Borah's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Centennial, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-20.
Borah does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Centennial, they will head out on the road to square off against Mountain View at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Mountain View is coming into the game with four straight wins at home, so Centennial will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
